Disputes. We get them resolved.

We cover practically all types of dispute against all kinds of parties and several sectors including property, the creative industries, design & manufacture and many more.

Regardless of the dispute, you will get the best advice.

Early advice and timescales

We are experts at identifying when you or your business is exposed and can advise on ways to minimise this. We always prefer to get involved sooner rather than later; it is often the most cost effective too.

Wide range of claims

There are many different bases for claims to be brought - negligence, defamation, nuisance, breach of contract, IP infringements, unjust enrichment etc. The legal landscape can be daunting, but we can cut through it all to offer you concise advice and a structured plan.

Complex litigation

Not only is the law itself often complex and confusing, the procedural steps in litigation are equally so - applications, defences, summons, disclosure, expert evidence. Our experience in a wide range of claims means we know all the  appropriate tactics to ensure your case is progressed properly.

Timescales

The length of time a matter takes to conclude varies dramatically. The usual stages are as follows - an initial review of the matter (within 2 weeks), initial correspondence with opponent (within 2 weeks, response varies), further correspondence (dependant on nature and response times), issuing claim (within 6 weeks), Court timetable (various depending on claim - we will provide detailed advice in advance). Once the Court sets a timetable, it will also set a window of dates during which the hearing will occur. From experience, this can be anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the nature of the claim; the majority take around 12 months.

Acting for Claimants

When you or your business have been wronged, we are here to help get you back on track.

Injunctions

Injunctions are ways of protecting or enforcing your rights by either compelling action to be taken (mandatory injunction) or preventing action from being taken (prohibitory injunction). Our experience in seeking interim, and final, injunctions means we can advise on their merits and develop a winning strategy.

Acting for Defendants

Often understanding the claim you face is the hardest part of any dispute. Identifying these and advising on the merits of case are our specialities.
